What is Fisher's exact test?
It is a test for a 2×2 table that uses the exact probability of the counts, given the row and column totals. It does not rely on a large-sample chi-square approximation.
Is this a one-sided or two-sided Fisher p value?
Two-sided. The p value adds every table with the same margins whose probability is less than or equal to the table you entered.
How large a table can this calculator take?
Counts must be whole numbers, and the four cells together must be 20,000 or fewer. Larger tables should use the chi-square calculator.
